Hi, I'm Leah Tams and I'm a History major! Good to be back.
I hope to gain more in-depth knowledge about the U.S. as an empire than is generally covered in a survey class, including the roles that gender, racism, and other aspects played in our foreign policy.
I'm William Roark. I'm a Junior and a History major. In this class I hope to learn a little bit about how the United States, by engaging in empire building, healed some of the rifts between the North and South left by the Civil War.
Hi my name is Ashley Lightburn. I am a Senior and a History major.I am taking this class because I think the idea of the United States as a empire is an interesting idea especially given our current foreign policy. I also like the idea of looking at the Spanish-American war which in many general history classes on the United States in largely overlooked.

Hi my name is Kat Labombarde. I am a sophomore and International Affairs major. I am interested in the roles of gender and race in our military culture, as well as the historical events that have shaped our foreign policy today.
Hey All! My name is Kyle Allwine, and I am a Senior History and Historic Preservation double major. I chose to take this class after doing a paper on the Krag-Jorgenson rifle last semester. Most of my secondary sources talked about the Spanish-American War and other more modern conflicts than I had not studied in any of my previous classes. This course allows me to follow some of those new founded interests during my prior research project.
I'm Brian Auricchio and I am an American Studies major with a concentration in race and ethnicity. I'm interested in the history of U.S. imperialism and how it intersects with race relations.
I am Donald Phelps and I am a History major with an emphasis in the Civil Rights Movement. In this class I want to understand how imperial US treats the different races within its range of power.
I am a senior majoring in History. Though I enjoy philosophy over all, I study history in an attempt to analyze how various codes of ethics and morals have been applied throughout time ... so I look forward to examining the conduct and consequences of America's belief structure between the 19th and 21st century.
My name is Mariah Young and I am a Freshman English and Political Science Major. I hope to learn the impacts of race and gender on our country, along with how that played a role in the United States as an empire.
