  3. Hi, I'm Leah Tams and I'm a History major! Good to be back.

I hope to gain more in-depth knowledge about the U.S. as an empire than is generally covered in a survey class, including the roles that gender, racism, and other aspects played in our foreign policy.

  6. Hi my name is Ashley Lightburn. I am a Senior and a History major.I am taking this class because I think the idea of the United States as a empire is an interesting idea especially given our current foreign policy. I also like the idea of looking at the Spanish-American war which in many general history classes on the United States in largely overlooked.

  10. Hey All!
My name is Kyle Allwine, and I am a Senior History and Historic Preservation double major. I chose to take this class after doing a paper on the Krag-Jorgenson rifle last semester. Most of my secondary sources talked about the Spanish-American War and other more modern conflicts than I had not studied in any of my previous classes. This course allows me to follow some of those new founded interests during my prior research project.

  13. I am a senior majoring in History. Though I enjoy philosophy over all, I study history in an attempt to analyze how various codes of ethics and morals have been applied throughout time ... so I look forward to examining the conduct and consequences of America's belief structure between the 19th and 21st century.
